Getting Laited with warm milk, December 20, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Froth Au Lait MINI Milk Frother I am about to turn 70 in what people call their golden years, those times when you spend at least 20% of your waking hours "kvetching" or complaining about parts of your body that don't work. But, there are advantages - you don't sleep all night is one. Therefore at 3:30 to 4:00 AM the coffee starts grinding and aroma fills the air and it's time to go to the coffee, but with its being cold outside and the joints are stiff, you can now make it to the kitchen. Starbucks is not open and if they were, the social security checks don't pay for their brew. But, in life there is an answer for everything and FROTH AU LAIT solved it for us. It was not my idea to buy it. My wife has all the ideas in my home, that is why or 43 years I live in a "House of Corrections". "We should buy a milk frother". Lots of hot milk PLUS tons of rich, creamy froth to top my coffee.
The unit come in two main sections.
1.a) The top, which is removable, and contains the rotating blades which do a great job of frothing the milk. These blades, by the way, are detachable for cleaning purposes.
1.b)The top lid also has a 'hatch' through which you can add liquor, sugar, chocolate, or other flavorings etc. during the frothing cycle, for personal taste preferences.
2.)The bottom part contains the glass receptacle and the heating unit. The receptacle will hold up to about 1 1/3 cups of milk (you can use less if you like)...enough to do 3 to 4 coffees.
The unit has a self timer. Once the 'ON' button is pressed the blades rotate, frothing the milk as it heats, and then shuts itself off after a couple of minutes.

We had to replace 2 units because they just stopped working, the milk continued to stick and burn on the bottom of the pot, it was very difficult to clean, and the reservoir size was very small. Our 3rd Aeroccino just died, and this time I was going to research and find a better solution. After digging around the internet, I found that the Froth Au Lait products were very well liked, and didn't have the issues I noted above, but the size of their reservoirs were much larger than the Aeroccino. We normally would make one or two cappuccinos at a time, and we didn't want a larger unit on our counter. Lo and behold we found this just released Froth Au Lait MINI. I had a few questions, so I contacted the manufacturer and was promptly speaking with the owner. She was extremely friendly and helpful, answering all of my questions, and confirmed that the MINI was best suited for our... Read more
